“Nothing behind me, everything ahead of me, as is ever so on the road.” ― Jack Kerouac, On the Road

We’re taking The Day of the Deadbeats out on the road to the magnificent Tap Social Movement on Friday the 11th October and y’all should come along! It’s been a beautiful road over these last 2 years and when we look back over the quality and talent we have had grace the doors of this special evening we are astounded. Thank you to everyone who has played and come along.

To celebrate we have the very first crew who stepped out with us – our comrades-in-arms and masters of the musical dark, the very wonderful The Ragged Charms. With original songs that sound like you’ve known them all your life the Charms embrace a cornucopia of musical delights. Mixing up hard driving blues with a promiscuity of influences from punk to bossa nova, their music is at once timeless and contemporary. 2nd up and as the night closes in, we have the blistering rockabilly and rock ‘n’ roll of the stunningly sexy The Long Insiders. Summoning the spirits of early Elvis, Link Wray and Dick Dale, these boys will chill your bones with a hint of voodoo, a touch of the ghoulish and a lot of vintage guitar. Loud, dark, fun and not for the fainthearted. The Long Insiders are self generated, like b-movie slime – holy moly Oxford – you ready for them? Us Deadbeats will then close the evening with some sweet soul music and Rock and Roll with songs from our new EP ‘Bring out your Deadbeats’

As always the night is free – its all about the music and making a night to never forget. Our amazing hosts at Tap Social Movement were founded in 2016, and grew out of a passion for good beer and social justice. A craft brewery which provides training courses for people serving prison sentences, offering courses in brewing and business start-up, and providing one-on-one support in securing permanent employment to assist in effective rehabilitation. Plus beautiful food vendor for the night is Sri-Licious – Sri Lankan Street Food – quite simply divine grub.
We hope to see new and old faces alike so please join us for a for a huge delicious helping of country, soul and rock and roll and to celebrate number 10 out on the road. Free entry!
