We’re kicking off the 1st Day of the Deadbeats of 2019 with the fantastic The Knights of Mentis on Saturday 12th January at The Isis River Farmhouse Their glorious virtuoso line up delivers a distinct and flavoursome brew of Americana, country, folk, and roots music, taking inspiration from artists such as Gillian Welch, Old Crow Medicine Show and The Band; however you can also hear influences from other great British bands such as Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. Its safe to say we’re pretty excited. Over the last three years this Oxford based band have been a firm favourite throughout the festival circuit; last year chosen by BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq Show as the ‘Highlight of Cornbury Festival’. We’ve been trying get these lot along since the beginning and we just know they’ll make it a night to remember. Joining the party and first on are the magnificent The Ragged Charms who’ll bring along their bluesy swampy sounds that will get your blood running hot and your hips moving in a filthy manner. Expect some juicy covers, fiddling landladies and band collaborations that will get you up on your feet and losing yourself in the sweet sweet music. Oh sorry – did we mention all this was still free?! Plus it’s a Deadbeat birthday celebration so get ya’self along and start the year as you mean to go on.
