The nights draw nearer, the longing for light and laughter grows stronger and you realise that what you need is none other than the soothing of your soul through some of Oxford’s greatest artists. Look no further as Day of the Deadbeats is back – Saturday the 13th November at the Isis Farmhouse and we have maybe the most incredible line up yet.

First up are Oxford favourites Gravid – a post-psych space rock four-piece, providing ambient and soothing melancholia, hints of sunbeam occasionally passing through the hazy cloud. As Nightshift so eloquently put “we’re looking for good vibes only and welcome the funky, feelgood sounds of Gravid. …a patchouli heavy palate cleanser where the mic being plugged in actually matters”

Then fresh from her ‘The Littlest Tour’ we have the one and only Tiece – a singer, producer and songwriter who’ll be bringing her beautiful neo-soulful, electric blues with a trip-hop tinge. …”With her smoky, seductive voice; chilled neo-soul vibes and slow trip-hop grooves, Tiece is guaranteed to grab your attention”… A member of the amazing band Innerpeace we had the pleasure of sharing the bill with her for Oxfords Sofar Sounds and at Nightshifts Common People stage. We actually can’t quite believe our luck!

And finally – the cats got the cream this time as we have the pleasure of welcoming, finally, the simply divine Catgod. Absolute legends in Oxford, together they create ‘effortlessly charming, folk-inspired songs’ and their music swings from folk tinged to dreamy and rocky and always with swirling harmonies. A musical project led by Oxford-based brother and sister duo Robin Christensen-Marriott and Catherine Marriott we are over the moon to be having them along for the ride. Catgod have charmed crowds at Truck Festival, Ronnie Scott’s, Common People Festival, Ritual Union Festival and had airplay from luminaries such as Lauren LaverneDon Letts and Tom Robinson on BBC 6Music. Now wait as they charm the socks off you lot.

Two’s company, three’s a crowd and four, well that’s just a party because as always us Deadbeats will be closing the show in spectacular fashion. None other than 4 acts at this Novembers Day of the Deadbeats – it’s gonna be epic. Can I get a witness!! Come support local, support live music and support independent music venues. And come remind yourself why you fell in love with live music. Still free, and full of love and warmth – and a whole lotta soul and rock and roll.
