New single Sweet Sweet Love is set for launch at The Bullingdon Friday 17th June and it sees the band return to the epic and soulful sound of their beginnings with a song that is a powerhouse of wonderful noise and emotion. Aching with love, longing and lust the Deadbeats continue to use music to create danger, magic and madness.
Expect more of the same in their raging, roaring, romantic, rousing set and look out for them in 2022 as they continue to stomp about Oxford venues swaggering and swaying as they do so, angry, political, dressed up to the nines and having a ball.
And who better to kick off the night than Barricane! “…a band who deserve more than to be yet another one of Oxford music’s best kept secrets.” Nightshift Jan ’22. With their song ‘Canopy’ reaching the top 20 of Nightshifts Top 20 in 2021 Barricane are a six piece band fronted by singer songwriters Rosy and Emily. They both write and arrange their own, tightly harmonic songs and in 2021 they released their album The Sky and Us: a journey through a range of musical vibes- from indie folk and electronica to trip-hop and rock- all tied together with vocal harmonies and themes of existence, perspective, everyday magic and the natural world. We cannot wait to share the stage with this bunch.
So there ya have it. A night you wanna make. Come join the Deadbeats rallying cries for the oppressed and soulful calls for action – they’ll break your heart, stir your inner diva and get ya fighting in the streets, all in a beat of an eye. With a full summer of gigs, single releases, recording and festivals this truly is set to the be the year of the Deadbeats.
